COSTS AND A DESCRIPTION OF THE ITEMS

Plz check my blog lutonmotorhome on blogspot uk and again lutonmotorhome on blogspot uk

This is a one of a kind van built to high standards and which i think is the biggest Van you can get that is 3.5tons and anyone can drive. Would make an ideal home and it is a comfortable home. I know the price seems high but I am still finishing off some things and i am open to offers.I put alot of time and money into this project as hopefully you can see.

If you have a touring band it would make a cool alternative to modern motorhomes which usually look carravany and small. I have used full size cooker and kitchen sink and the water runs when you turn the tap on.We have lived in the van for a while now and it is warm in the winter thanks to the burner.

If you run a festival stall and want a awesome luxury cabin that you can drive on a normal licence that has everything then this would be ideal.I will list some of the features

-toilet room with shower and toilet at the moment we boil water and shower
-full size cooker with lpg jets runs of small propane tank which is under seat we have a spare
-Library with leds for all your books and it looks really homely
-double bed above cab the bed is slatted and vented
-fully insulated and is very warm in the winter
-L shaped couch with comfy cushions the couch is also single bed and fits me perfect and im 6 ft. There is storage under all the seats.
-Full size kitchen and fridge and plenty of cupboard space all cupboards are vented.Plenty of space to cook, the unit is sealed and beaded and treated so you can just wipe the wood.
-175 litre water container professionally fitted and a whale pressure pump so no switches or pedals just turn the tap
-cubboards above kitchen which has pkenty of space for clothes etc
-12v led lighting. There are 2 bedside led swivel lights with switches for when reading in bed and 4 swivel led running along roof and library leds and outside light
-2 way fridge gas and electricity
-two rooflights and a seinz dometic window with sun protector and fly net.
-Batterry cupboard which has 3 leisure battries which are charged with split relay while driving. The 12 volt electrics are earthed to the chassis and all the points are fused. There is also a sony explod amplifier which needs speakers but is wired in
-SOUND SYSTEM IS AROUND 500WATTS RMS AND SOUNDS AMAZING AND LOUD. tHE SPEAKERS WERE BOXED IN REALLY WELL AND PAINTED AND THERE IS AN ACTIVE SUB
PARTY VAN all the wiring is secured behind bullnose so looks proffesional and neat
-The van is cladded with pine toungue and groove and is treated with danish oil I did 3 coats and took a while
-240volt plug in kitchen from inverter
-There is a private plate on the vehicle worth 400-600 pounds
- Extremely spacious and you can have 6 people in the van comfortably socialising and more and we have.
-Class 7 van and i have just sent off to convert to motorhome which will knock it down to class 4
-It can be driven on a standard licenece and is decent on diesel
-Windy smithy woodburner top of the range which you can cook on and heats the van instantly and
-Small silent suzuki generator
-THE BOX IS TRANSFERABLE SO YOU CAN UPGRADE CHASSIS CAB AND IS ALUMINIUM SO IT WILL NOT RUST.MY DREAM WAS TO PUT THE BOX ONTO A 4X4 MERCEDES SPRINYER CHASSIS CAB
-Large double bed with 2 bedside swivel leds witch switches and at your feet is a small shelve. The base is slatted and has 2 vents.
-Large campingaz chemical toilet that feels like a toilet and there is a toilet rool holder.
-Storage above the shower which is were the active sub is placed
-the Motorhome is very stealthy and we have stayed all over and wild camped with no problems
-you will be amazed by the large homely cottage feel to it. I have been in those new custom built mercedes sprinter 30000 grand 7 ton campers and they seem to have less space and it feels cluttered and that is what i wanted to get away from the carravan feel.
-oregan antique pine flooring all sanded and danish oiled
-DONE TO A VERY HIGH STANDARD AND NO EXPENSE SPAIRED

CLOSER TO COMPLETION

tHE ABOVE PICTURE WAS TAKEN IN DARTMOOR YOU CAN SEE THE BURNER STICKING OUT OF THE ROOF WHICH HAS A HAT ON NOW.WHAT AN AMAZING SPOT

The above picture shows the shower wall and you can see the mirror on the door. The van is big but it was still able to get over the tiny dartmoor bridges and lanes

You can see the kitchen cupboards and draw and the two way fridge and there is a storage cupboard under the fridge which is also were the pump is stored. The motorhome is looking like a wood cabin and is bigger than some flats i have rented in the past.I have to mention the floor again as it looks perfect in this picture. The cushions all fit perfect and are boxed in so they dont slide
Under the cushions on the couches is 4 compartments for storage with vents

The view from the side door at a festival in devon it really is luxury festival going
A view looking the other way and it is really spacious not like a carravan at all

OPERATION WOODWORK AND CARPENTRY

Preparing to sand floor

As you can see the shower toilet is built and all the roof beams are in place which i  notched and then screwed into the roof beams. The floor is very dirty and looks like its has not been sanded for years under there is antique oregan pine somewhere =). At the back you can see the library taking shape
LIBRARY AND BURNER

ROOF BEAMS AND EXPANING FOAM IN ROOF SPACE

i need to make the roof secure as all the cladding would be heavy and also needed to be flexible. Like I said  the roof beams are notched and then i used self tapping screws to attach them to roof beams.

BELT SANDING

The floor was belt sanded you can see the true colour coming through the pictue shows the true size available especially for a 3.5 ton van.

The oregan pine which has a slight orange colour to it is looking like new and you can see at the top we have started treating it with danish oil also the top of the library has been treated and you can see how it brings it out.

The floor has been sanded and treated with 3 coats of danish oil we were lucky to have  antique oregan pine flooring =)

As you can see we had to add new wooden slats to attach cladding and we also removed cupboard.

WOODBURNER

WOODBURNER
WARMTH FOR WINTER

The most important thing if you plan to live in your van in the Autum and Winter and it has to be said as we are in the United kingdom ANY TIME OF THE YEARN=) is a good woodburner.

There are lots of styles that are available aswell as price range. The lower of the price range are the gas bottle burners which can be adequate but they do not hold the heat like handmade steel burners.

I chose WINDY SMITHY as they are rated as one of the best if not the best, they are not cheap but the craftsmanship is second to none and his burners are LEGENDARY.The below picture below shows the burner I have. They retail new for around 300£ and here is a link to there website he makes some amazing stuff and he is areal talented BlacksmithWindy Smith Woodburners

Woodburner in action

The woodburner is sat on a Slate Slab in the corner. There is holes on the legs of the woodburner and i used these to secure the Woodburner and slab to the floor. I used bolts which I fixed from Under the wooden flooring.
Last year at alchemy festival in Derby
The woodburner sits in a spot under the library and by the door. To install the flue through the roof i had to get a fireproof rubber flashing and they are around 40£. I cut a hole in the roof and installed the flashing using  a sealent and tech screws below is an example of the flashing

Shaka and the Woodburner in the  backround
As you can see in the picture above there is a aluminium backplate  which is a heat guard for the wall. The woodburner works a treat and we are able cook on it yet it has to be purring. We also have a carbon monoxide and smoke detector which placed by the bed this is a must if you want to be alive and safe.

The woodburner used as table in the summer
